Blackjack

The goal of Blackjack is simple: beat the dealer by having a hand value closer to 21 without going over (busting). It's a game of strategy, luck, and timing, and you only need a few key rules to dive right in! VaultBet's Blackjack deals from 2 standard decks generated and shuffled using the Internet Computer's randomness function to ensure provable fairness and no tampering with the deal order.

Card Values:

  • Number cards (2-10) are worth their face value.

  • Face cards (Kings, Queens, Jacks) are worth 10 points.

  • Aces can be either 1 or 11, depending on what benefits your hand the most.

Gameplay:

  1. Players vs. Dealer:

    • You’re playing against the dealer, not other players.

    • Each player is dealt two cards face up, while the dealer gets one card face up and one face down (the "hole" card).

  2. Hit or Stand?

    • After the initial deal, you choose to either:

      • Hit: Take another card to get closer to 21.

      • Stand: Keep your current hand and end your turn.

    • You can continue to hit until you decide to stand or go over 21 (bust)

  3. Special Options:

    • Doubling Down: After your first two cards, you can double your bet and take only one more card.

    • Splitting Pairs: If your first two cards are the same value, you can split them into two hands and play each hand separately.

Note: Special options require doubling your initial bet of the hand being played (each split must be backed by a bet amount even to the initial hand stake. VaultBet allows up to 4 splits per hand)

  4. Dealer’s Turn:

    • The dealer will hit if their hand is below 17.

    • The dealer will stand if their hand is 17 or higher.

Game Result and Multipliers:

  • Closest to 21 Wins: If your hand is closer to 21 than the dealer’s, you win!

  • Blackjack: If you get an Ace and a 10-point card (21 on the initial deal), you win instantly unless the dealer also has a Blackjack, which results in a push (tie).

  • Bust: If your hand exceeds 21, you lose.
